A £900,000 mirror sculpture destined for a square in Nottingham, will have to be shielded to prevent it focusing the Sun's rays and barbecuing birds. "Direct sunlight hitting the mirror would be focused into a beam only a few centimetres across, as hot as the surface of the Sun" said astronomer Michael Merrifield. "Concentrating tens of kilowatts into a tiny area is not something to mess with."

MeWelcome, I'm Steve Bell.

I'm currently working as Marketing and Research Manager for this organisation.

I have been writing a blog for over eight years now and (hopefully sensibly) I tend to write about the things that I know a bit about and that interest me - like Gadgets, Software, New Media, Radio, TV and Marketing.
